Artist's Statement:

"I have been painting for over 50 years, always experimenting with new ideas as my experience and maturity have developed.

"Although I have worked with most media, I always return to a water medium (transparent watercolor, gouache and egg tempera) for its absolute purity of light and color 'key', as well as the ability to realize a design or pictorial idea quickly and spontaneously.

"My current work has been described as, "...fresh, cleanly executed and brilliant in color." The sum total of my work covers various styles and "isms", including expressionism, lyrical realism, the California school, hard-edge pop, etc.

"There is, however, a common denominator, a basic thread, running through my work: that is an emotional, often passionate involvement with the subject matter, plus the enduring fact that all my work has its origins or conclusions in landscape and my personal experience with natural wonders."
